This is really Bed Time content, but Tumblr doesn't accept WAV files and I can't figure out how to convert to MP3.

This is my second year in a row without a Valentine. Last year it felt like some sort of rebellion, this year it just doesn't feel like anything. I think I'm totally OK being single. I know I'm OK with it, actually. It's a good feeling. The rest of the world is celebrating though, and I have to say that today does feel slightly more filled with love. I'm not sure what it is, but it feels kind of lovey all around and that's pretty great.
When I do have a Valentine, I don't really think the holiday is that big of a deal-- the whole cliche "real love doesn't need a special day" kind of thing. I also don't care for chocolates and lingerie and champagne. All of that stuff is tacky and a little embarrassing to me. What I will celebrate though are all the songs that make me feel like I'm in love even when I'm not. I'm posting some of my favorite love songs here today. Remember you can download them if you read me via RSS. :)

Exchanging Valentine's Day cards with elementary school classmates and friends is usually a sweet activity but one local mother is worried about the message being conveying in cards being sold in city schools. Instead of exchanging feelings of love and acceptance these cards seem to promote hatred and bullying. When Chandra MacNab's 7-year-old daughter brought home a book of Valentine Cards she purchased from her school's book club, Scholastic, Chandra couldn't believe what she was seeing. The cards in question are from a company called Happy Bunny and were rated as appropriate for students between SK and Grade 4. They contain messages such as this one which reads.... ''When you think back on what we had, I hope that you'll be floating face down in a river, and you'll always know that part of me will never care about you.' Or this one which says, 'Hate- it's just a special kind of love we give to people we don't like.'' MacNab, whose daughter attends MacKenzie School, hopes the Lakehead School Board will encourage Scholastic to take the book off it's order sheet. Friday the Board addressed the issue and while it did not say it will go that far, it does agree these cards are inappropriate for young children and will speak to Scholastic about the matter. MacNab has spoken to her children about the cards and says even they agree they are offensive. She hopes that by bringing the issue forward any other parent who may have inadvertently ordered the Happy Bunny cards will know what kind of greeting their children may be giving this Valentine's day.

If you're in the NY area, I strongly suggest you sign up for this... He says: "I'm really just looking for a cute, freckle-faced girl to talk with."
