I was just watching a TiVo'd copy of The View and I saw a comercial for a medication that's supposed to help people with something called "Restless Leg Syndrome". I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but that sounds like some hot bullshit. Moving on...

The comercial said that one of the side effects for this medication could be compulsion to gamble. Like, you know, gambling-- playing cards and throwing dice and shit... as a side effect of a medication? For Restless Legs with a capital R and L? Why would you risk it?

I understand there are some situations that call for risking potentially shitty side effects, There's a 2% suicide rate with Accutane, I believe. I remember many friends who seemed to be depressed while taking it, but it's a drug for extreme cases of acne, so many of them felt justified in being a little depressed for awhile in hopes of ultimately being more happy.

Accutane is also a pretty shallow example-- chemotherapy rips you apart, but it fights cancer like a mother fucker, so the physical pain is worth going through because it may save your life... but Restless Legs? Not worth potentially damaging yourself psychologically, in my opinion.

I feel like I have to mention that I have particularly restful legs, and that I have a completely biased opinion. I can't imagine living in a world where my legs didn't love to rest and I can't imagine how difficult it must be for someone to go every single days with out their legs just taking time to chill out and relax.
