Exchanging Valentine's Day cards with elementary school classmates and friends is usually a sweet activity but one local mother is worried about the message being conveying in cards being sold in city schools. Instead of exchanging feelings of love and acceptance these cards seem to promote hatred and bullying. When Chandra MacNab's 7-year-old daughter brought home a book of Valentine Cards she purchased from her school's book club, Scholastic, Chandra couldn't believe what she was seeing. The cards in question are from a company called Happy Bunny and were rated as appropriate for students between SK and Grade 4. They contain messages such as this one which reads.... ''When you think back on what we had, I hope that you'll be floating face down in a river, and you'll always know that part of me will never care about you.' Or this one which says, 'Hate- it's just a special kind of love we give to people we don't like.'' MacNab, whose daughter attends MacKenzie School, hopes the Lakehead School Board will encourage Scholastic to take the book off it's order sheet. Friday the Board addressed the issue and while it did not say it will go that far, it does agree these cards are inappropriate for young children and will speak to Scholastic about the matter. MacNab has spoken to her children about the cards and says even they agree they are offensive. She hopes that by bringing the issue forward any other parent who may have inadvertently ordered the Happy Bunny cards will know what kind of greeting their children may be giving this Valentine's day.

I'm not even going to pretend to know what I'm actually talking about when it comes to football or the Superbowl or anything sports-related, really, but I will say that while he's no Tom Brady, Eli Manning isn't too bad lookin'. At least from what I could tell while fast forwarding through his interview with David Letterman. At least he looks less like a moose in the face than most football players that come to mind.
Tom Brady is a really good looking man, though. Duh.

I love this quote. I want to have it translated into fifteen different languages and tattoo it on my back.
Mom: Tell your brother what happens when you go to jail.
Me: You become someone's bitch.
Mom: Yes. And when you go to jail,, you go for years. It's not just for one day. You know how many days are in a year?
Brother: 365?
Me: Yes. 365 days of being someone's bitch times many, many years. That's a lot of days.

Hello,
I don't know if I'm writing
the right person for this, but I have an idea for a guaranteed sky rocketing
ratings reality show. I've faithfully watched I Love New York 1 and 2, Flavor of
Love 1 and 2, and Charm School and it's obvious America loves drama and
black women! The show would feature my friends and I who are all college
students In Tallahassee, but were born and raised in Miami, Florida. My friends
and I have been through it all. If we contacted you earlier about the show idea
some scenes would feature these issues's, school issues, undecided majors,
fights, friend betrayal, drinking, some arrests, probation, friends dating or
"hooking up" with other friends boyfriends, pregnancy scare, stripping, money
issues, fashion design, our infamous club scenes, not being able to hold down a
job. I know it sounds like a lot and that's because it is. Those are just some
of the things that goes on in our crazy college life. The show would be called
Poor Little Rich Girls. It's about a group of girls who are from Miami, a major
city, but they all attend college Florida State, FAMU, and Tallahassee Community
College, which is in Tallahassee Florida's capital and also a very boring city
and country town. We basically come and take over the city. People see us in the
streets and the clubs wearing tutu's and they think we have life made, but
in reality we don't! We struggle like no other and that's what's so funny about
the whole situation. Girls are envious of us and their men want us, that's why
we call ourselves TBN which stand for Taking Bitches Niggas, but people don't
know what it stand for ,they just here TBN an if asked what it stands for we
tell them Talented Black Nubians, very few know the real term. In the group of
friends we have a comedian with the biggest ass, Kevinique, a slut Nyeta, the
thief and mother Crystal, the man chaser Sha, the peace maker and jealous friend
with another big ass Easha, the slimy, conniving friend Sunshine and the quiet
weed head and down for whatever friend Keyondra. Behind all these girls a
lot and I mean a lot go down. Many people tell us they wish they had a video
camera and could follow our every move because they'll be rich. Sometimes at the
end of the day we say we wish America could see the BS we went through today. I
know America would want to tune in it'll be better than any reality showed aired
on any station, but Vh1 airs the best so give us a
try.
From ABC News:
FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A 300-pound prostitute robbed a man of $100 before pedaling away on a blue bicycle, according to a police report.
The case of the hefty hooker happened about 1:10 a.m. Monday as the 32-year-old man rode his bicycle when the assailant came up to him.
“The female approached asking (the alleged victim) did he want a date, which meant she wanted him to pay for some sex,” the report states.
The man told investigators he felt sorry for the woman and pulled $10 from his wallet to give to her. That’s when she allegedly pushed him off his bicycle and wrestled him down. She snatched his wallet, stole $100 and then pedaled off.
The alleged victim, who wasn’t injured, described his assailant as weighing 300 pounds and clad in blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
An officer searched the area but couldn’t find the woman.
