So I heard this song at the Cha Cha last week and I was all "Wait... what is this song? This is Nightswimming by R.E.M., right?" and it totally was. I used to love this song in college because I was really emo and into sad music from slightly before a time where it would actually be relevant and on my radar. TRUE STORY.

Anyway, I went home that night and downloaded a bunch of R.E.M including "Shiny Happy People", which was an American song I remember being really popular the summer I lived in Italy as a child. It's kind of strange to associate a semi-embarrassing 90s jam with a summer of foreign travel, but at least I don't associate it with something really awful, like if it was playing on my iPod when I got mugged and beat up and left for dead in an alley and the last words I heard were " Happy happy/Put it in your heart/Where tomorrow shines/Gold and silver shine". Think about it: If there is some kind of afterlife, I'm probably going to the one for the baddies and it'd be like too ironic to have those words echoing in my mind for eternity It wouldn't even be awful as much as it would be like an extra "fuck you" because obviously if I'm shoveling coal with Hitler in some fire pit I'll be the actual opposite of shiny and happy and a person, for that matter. I guess I'm over thinking things, because if something like that did ever happen, there's no way that it would take less time than the total running time of the song and I'm usually working off of shuffle, so it's more likely that I'll die to some Strokes song or "I Wanna Be Rich" by Cab Calloway or something.

I'm just saying that I was surprised to hear Nightswimming at the Cha Cha. That's what I was getting at.

2) Friday night I went to the bars with my usual crowd despite being way too exhausted after taking a nap from 6-11pm and waking up with all my hair smushed on one side of my head because I fell asleep with wet hair. We're always rolling about six deep, so when we showed up to the bar and our friend was in the middle of the line, I realized that we were rudely cutting the entire crowd. I had a "decent person moment", you guys! I told my friends I wanted us to go to the back of the line, and the people behind our friend appreciated our "consideration" (doing the thing we've been taught our whole life is the fair and polite thing to do) that they actually stopped me and Ed inside by the bar to say how nice we were and how much they appreciated us moving. I don't know if the dude's dad hit him when he was a kid so he has extra low expectations for how he should be treated or if everyone in LA is that big of a douchebag, but if that's all I have to do to feel like an American Hero, then I'm gonna keep trying to be nice.

3) Other than that, I pretty much had a low-key weekend. I lazed around on my friend's couch last night making him miserable by whining about a ton of random and self-indulgent shit that's really not actually that bad, then I slept all day today except for when I ate an ice cream sundae around 2 with Ed. We also went to Rite Aid and I bought a bunch of candy, including some of these guys:

Cry Baby gum. Get it? Because I'm a cry baby? I used to eat on car rides home from the beach when I was a kid.

Oh yeah, and while I was searching for an image of the gum, I also found this picture which was labeled on Google as "Daniel, the class cry baby"

Hey, Guys? Why don't you leave Daniel the fuck alone? He probably has a lot of stuff going on that's making him be the class cry baby, even though he does appear to have a sweet shirt on. Daniel, if it makes you feel any better, I like your shirt, although I'm pretty sure whatever you're dealing with is a lot deeper than your shirt choice so that's really just kind of petty and not particularly meaningful. And you're a kid too, so it's most likely not even something you picked out yourself. Ehhh, I'm sure you're cool.

Last night I was all, "Ed... I'm going to climb on this nature."

Then I totally blew my cool and starting posing and I was under the impression that the street sign was in the picture and instead there's just some weird orb which is probably just the spirit of my grandmother looking down on me all like "Molly, your outfit worked in your mind, at your house in an ironic way, and it's really not translating in photographs and you're drunk on top of a hill. Go home and say your rosary and go to bed."

Kendall and Molls: 7-11 Sly Vlog

Kendall and I decided to vlog in 7-11 tonight, but I had it in my head that we weren't allowed to and I told her we should vlog on the sly... The dude is Kendall's BF Bill. We're really lucky that Bill made it as far into the evening as our trip to 7-11 because he almost died at Swingers and then he got really wasted and threatened to kill me. OK, both of those things are only half true, and one of them is less half true and more 2% true, but I'm terrible at converting fractions to percentages and frankly, no one pays me to write this blog so I don't really find it necessary to be some sort of professional fact checker. Also, can someone please tell me what a run on sentence is? SRSLY.

For anyone who's wondering, I'm still single and currently taking applications from anyone who doesn't have a mustache and preferably has health insurance. (And on second thought, the mustache thing only really applies if you shower less that five times a week.)

P.S. I wound up getting some sour Air Heads and a Diet Coke.
